You are invited! Join us at, Introduction to Systemic Discrimination, a free 90-minute educational session hosted by BC’s Office of the Human Rights Commissioner on Thursday, January 15. 

Have you ever wondered what systemic discrimination is? Or what its impacts are? Join one of our free 90-minute sessions to learn about how systems in our workplaces, organizations and communities can create barriers and harms for certain groups.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • identify some key elements of systemic discrimination
  • explain the differences between systemic and interpersonal discrimination and how they are related
  • understand some of the impacts of systemic discrimination
  • identify who is impacted by systemic discrimination
  • identify where systemic discrimination happens
  • notice systemic discrimination in their daily lives
  • begin reflecting on actions they might take*
